Photo Recipe
This image is all “in-camera” with no photoshop effects. I really liked the whole Grimm’s Tales motif. It was taken about 20 minutes after the sunset and I had a singe flash remotely triggered on the ground about 10 feet from the model. Having the flash this far away helped to create the mood without putting that creepy shadow on the model’s face. The flash was on -3 power and the camera settings were as such: f8 1/250 100ISO.
Do you like photo recipes like this? If so I can start making them a regular part of my blog with more descriptive images.

Recently found your podcast and blog and I am enjoying them both. Yes, let’s “cook” up some photos with your recipes.
I love photo recipes. I still think there are some creepy shadows on the model’s face, but I think I could get rid of them if I were to follow your basic recipe. Thanks for all of the work you put into this site!
Creepy shadows are all part of the look. Did you notice the book the model is holding. Creepy is the point.
